Bentley Green Community Orchard & Wildlife Meadow is a long-term community project to transform the Old Recreation Ground into a species-rich habitat and a place for everyone to enjoy. Existing hedgerows and mature trees will be conserved and enhanced, while new orchard trees, wildflowers, wildlife features, paths and outdoor learning spaces develop and mature over time.
Your donation will help fund trees, meadow creation, habitat features, accessible paths, seating and the practical work needed to establish and care for the site.

Bentley Green Community Group manages the site on behalf of Bentley Parish Council. Our work is guided by the public consultation and the report that followed, ensuring the project reflects the priorities and ideas shared by the community.
A steering group of local people oversees the project, with group leads taking responsibility for its different areas. This structure is helping us turn the overall vision into practical plans and keep each part of the project moving forward.
We’re also supported by a fantastic wider group of volunteers who generously contribute their time, knowledge and energy. Whether they’re carrying out surveys, raising funds, helping with maintenance or lending a hand wherever it’s needed, their involvement is central to Bentley Green’s success.
Together, we’re working to create and care for a community orchard and wildlife meadow that reflects local wishes and can be enjoyed for years to come.
Our pop-up café at Bentley Station is one of our major fundraising activities. Open in the station waiting room from 6.30-8.30am, Tuesday to Thursday*, it offers commuters a friendly start to the day while raising vital funds for Bentley Green.
We’re incredibly grateful for all the support and donations we’ve received from local businesses and individuals, including The Milk Club and Artefact Coffee. We’d also like to thank our wonderful volunteers, who get up bright and early to run the café and give commuters such a warm welcome.
